Duty Crew was established in 2021 and is run by operational Fire Service Duty Crew. Founder, Steve, joined the Local Authority Fire & Rescue Service in 1999, then in 2000 joined the Aviation Fire & Rescue Sector. Fast forward to 2021 and the fire service is still a ride he is not ready to get off...

Steve is the 4th member of his family to have been awarded the Fire Brigade Long Service Good Conduct Medal - awarded by Her Majesty The Queen to those members of the Fire Brigades of the United Kingdom who have rendered Long and Meritorious Service. Between them, the family have a combined service of just over 100 years - something they are all incredibly proud of!

Anyway, this is about coffee right?
As you are probably already aware, coffee is the most popular drink worldwide, with over 2.25 billion cups of coffee consumed every day - over 70 million in the UK alone. Most of it is consumed in crew rooms by shift workers such as those in the Emergency Services, and usually whilst swinging the lantern, telling a tale of ‘Remember that time when...'.
Whilst we could all finish the stories (because we’ve heard them so often) we sit, smile & laugh like it’s the first time we have heard it - for the simple reason that these times are important.
The coffee of choice varies, but it's usually mediocre, freeze dried instant coffee that comes with a bag of sugar just to make it drinkable. It's our aim to change all that by providing great quality coffee, delivered to your door.

Our ImpacT
Keeping an eye on the environment, the waste that we produce is as important to us as the taste of our coffee.

All of our products are supplied in high-quality, recyclable stand up pouches.
We only roast in small batches; this helps to ensure that our coffee is fresh. It also helps to reduce waste whilst still being able to create some incredible coffee.
Used coffee grounds are generally regarded as waste, and are usually thrown away, most ending up in landfill.
Doing our bit to protect our environment for a more sustainable future, Duty Crew has launched a range of blends which are roasted using energy-rich coffee logs produced from used coffee grounds.

But – is Duty Crew coffee vegan?
It may sound a silly question - coffee beans are a plant and, as long as you choose non-dairy milk with your coffee, of course it’s vegan, right? But have you considered what goes on behind the scenes...?
